Flying AA business from Rome to JFK in May. Scheduled arrival T8 is 14:30. Connecting to DL at T4 for a 16:20 flight to DTW. Have GE, Clear, and checked bags. Is there a bag drop after customs for DL at T8 or will I need to take the bags to T4 and check them there? Thoughts on timing??
Assuming these are separate tickets (?) your bag will only be tagged to JFK, you'll need to claim it at T8 then take it to T4 to check-in again and drop the bag with DL.
With no bags this wouldn't be a problem, however as always the wait for your bags is the wild card. A Google search says DL's domestic bag cutoff time is 60 mins at JFK; That leaves you 50 mins to land, clear immigration, grab your bag, then take the train to T4 and check-in again with DL. Very tight.
