Obviously, the French do care about US FAA certification, especially because the EASA and FAA normally work together on this sort of thing. And just as obviously, there is an STC that allows that particular A359 to operate with Starlink.

Every single United A359 can have Starlink installed right now.

Nobody is pretending anything. Sure, United could have decided to start with the fleet that already had solid, worldwide internet service and ignored the Express fleet, which they knew would have no internet at all as of January, 2026 -- and for which the gate-to-gate convenience of Starlink was a massive improvement over the Gogo system that didn't activate until 10,000 feet. They charted a different path.

If Air France meets your needs, by all means, fly them.
