A civilized way to travel. Little surprised you paid that much $38. Vic seniors get a better deal (the State election is looming)

Via MEL is ~160 miles shorter by air.

About 15 years ago needed to be in Gladstone QLD by 08:30 on a Monday. Instead of flying all the way took the train from Brisbane 11:00-16:00 on Sunday. Train in business class was less the QE economy. Most of the others in business class were seniors/pensioners on very discounted fares. For them was not much different to them if paying a train meal down the back in coach (complementarity meals in QLD rail busines class).
