Told you it was a silly TR! FLEW back to CBR... but, being a Saturday neither of the small airlines (Link and Pelican Air) with direct flights were operating, so it was NTL to BNE (!) to CBR. on Virgin.. Could have been worse, could have been via MEL!
Travel is back to normal in 2 weeks. Off to the USA, on NZ... and thankfully in J. Thanks for putting up with this!
A civilized way to travel. Little surprised you paid that much $38. Vic seniors get a better deal (the State election is looming)
Via MEL is ~160 miles shorter by air.

About 15 years ago needed to be in Gladstone QLD by 08:30 on a Monday. Instead of flying all the way took the train from Brisbane 11:00-16:00 on Sunday. Train in business class was less the QE economy. Most of the others in business class were seniors/pensioners on very discounted fares. For them was not much different to them if paying a train meal down the back in coach (complementarity meals in QLD rail busines class).
