Wanted to see if there have been any recent data points on Cathay protecting/re-accommodating missed connections on separate tickets.

My friend and I are flying NRT-HKG-HAN on Sunday. NRT-HKG is a CX issued award ticket, and HKG-HAN is a CX revenue ticket. The connection time is almost 4 hours, so I assumed there was not much to worry about, especially since CX will through check bags.

However, I now see that it is forecast to snow in Tokyo on Sunday, and I am worried about potential delays to the NRT-HKG flight. Any guesses as to how helpful CX will be if the first flight is delayed/cancelled and we miss the flight to Hanoi?
