No, you are doing nothing wrong.
I just think there is a misalignment of expections.
What ULTI promises are things which many people find valuable: the TA team, free flight change on day of departure, upgrade vouchers, dedicated lounge space in many airports, personal escort through immigration and/or security at some airports, access to super-priiority line at secuity, gifting of a Platinum card to someone else, pre-boarding...
Personally I prefer not to stand in line at immigration when arriving in CDG than getting a plastic cup with some wine. But of course your view may be different, the personal attention given to you on board is more important. But ULTI isn't designed for "ego pampering" but increasingly it's about tangible benefits..
