I will say on the whole I like Lyft drivers better - more polite and no safety incidents like I’ve experienced on uber. Also I have a 5.0 rating on Lyft and 4.86 on uber so the feeling must be mutual.
It is wild how different pricing can be across the three apps. I typically check all three to decide which makes sense for me for that specific ride. (Exception is downtown Oakland, where I've found Lyft to be cheaper and faster so reliably that I just default to Lyft now.) In my area of LA, I can have Uber at $10, Lyft at $11, Waymo at $22. Or Uber at $14 and Lyft at $10 and Waymo at $9. It really varies -- I assume based on whether they really want my business or not (possibly due to drivers being nearby or Waymo needing to position cars) and whatever the algorithms say I'm willing to pay. It is not unusual for me to save 20% when picking between Uber and Lyft, with Waymo as the wildcard.
