That feels... completely inaccurate as a statement? AS went to a distance-based chart in 2024 that was a rather huge devaluation, AA's stayed on a partner chart that's been the same for years and years.

Anyway the upside for AS miles is AS will actually award status on award trips.

You don't mention status held, do you actually "bounce to the East Coast pretty often for work" enough so an AS redemption might make a difference?
