Actually, the EWR CO terminal just won some kind of major award:
HOUSTON, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Terminal C at Newark Liberty
International Airport, the principal base for Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL)
and its New York hub operations, swept the 2005 Airport Revenue News Best
Concessions Poll in the Single Terminal category, which includes awards for
Best Concession Design, Best Customer Service, Best Concessions Management Team, Most Unique Services and Best Overall Concession Program.
Newark Liberty International Airport also earned a top honor in the Large
Airport Category, recognized as the Airport with Most Unique Services.
Rankings were determined by Airport Revenue News and a panel of ARN-selected industry experts. Newark Liberty International Airport won awards last year for Best Concession Program Design (Terminal C), Best Overall Concession Program and Most Unique Services.
Although I do agree that Newark in general (and not just the airport) is a cesspool.
What surprises me is that DAL, the home base of SW, is such a dated-looking, mildewy-smelling terminal. You'd think they'd take a bit more pride in their home base.
So many other SW facililties - MDW & HOU come to mind -have been upgraded by SW and are quite modern looking. Maybe if the Wright Amendment opens up DAL, SW will update the tired-looking DAL terminal.
