It will be easier to use a transit hotel of you can check the bag through and avoid having to go through customs and immigration to claim it at the airport (although in the past there were reports of SIN transfer desks being able to have bags retagged). Transit hotels are airside.

Airline(s)? Terminal(s)? Single ticket/PNR? Will you have lounge access at SIN?
