whoa 3x for all foreign transactions?! Never knew such thing existed. Maybe I should get this card.
Plus they say 2 status points for every $2 spent and 10,000 MQD head start at anniversary. This means you get OW Ruby at the first anniversary just for flying TYO-HNL return once and then charging ~$6k to your card while living in Jpn.

Not sure why AS award on JL domestic doesn't show up on your PC version there when it shows up on the app. Weird.
I will say that UA seems to be the best US-based mileage program for domestic Jpn award redemption.
