If this is a prepaid rate this is not possible, because the hotel is paid by Amex Travel using a system card. I suppose it is possible that Amex Travel separately provides them with your account number, but that would seem to be a pointless risk because the published terms explicitly allow you to pay with any American Express in your own name, see THIS post from a few days ago.
