They had somehow managed to take over the hotels booking system, they even managed to send me a message through the Booking.com system but when they started asking for my credit card details I instantly smelt a rat. I had the same issue with booking years ago and this is the reason why I never used it again.
It was super creepy to receive messages apparently from the hotel I have booked, via the booking app, to know later that they were a scam.
When I google it, I found this scam to be massive. Booking takes no responsibility as the computers that they infiltrated where the ones in the hotels, not theirs.
