I am guessing it will stop - once you get the new Citi card (and I guess activate that you received it). At that point the Barclay card is cancelled, so you can't earn any more money on it. Not sure if Citi would provide Barclay with your spend on the new card and for how long?
I guess you can delay activating the card?
The FAQ's state:
Can I continue using my Barclays AAdvantageŽ AviatorŽ MastercardŽ after April 24, 2026?
Continue using your Barclays AAdvantageŽ AviatorŽ MastercardŽ card as you normally would until you receive and activate your new Citi card. Your Citi credit card will be sent within 6-8 weeks starting April 27, 2026. At that point, safely and securely discard your Barclays card.
Please note that your AAdvantageŽ AviatorŽ MastercardŽ credit card will automatically stop working shortly after receipt of your new Citi card or when you activate your new Citi card. Make sure to activate your new Citi card as soon as possible.
