Usually, the airfare prices on Chase are equal to those on the airline websites. But today, I was pricing a trip on United. The fare on united.com was $247, but Chase prices out at $350. Then they offered a Point Boost, reducing the point cost from 35,000 to 24,700 claiming a value of 1.7 cents per point. So basically, they jacked up the fare, but their Point Boost put the fare right back at a value of 1.0 cents per point on the real fare.
