I personally get huge benefit from the Air NZ Partner Airline booking portal. I can regularly get return business class fares on SQ from Singapore to plenty of destinations within South East Asia, for $600 APD return. $300 return for economy. Plenty of availability. Often less than half of the fare SQ charge to book direct. From my point of view, this is the best method to get the most value from airpoints redemption.
Ditto - point-to-point short-haul flights within Asia and EU can be extortionary with cash fares, especially from *A hubs. Have loved using it in/out of TPE on BR.
