There is a FPbS that I stay at somewhat frequently for both business and personal. They have 4 suites out of about 125 rooms. I have a decent enough relationship with property owner and GM and even with titanium status rarely get to sleep in one of them. Some of the lack of upgrades that we see is essentially due to more elites than rooms to upgrade into. I have seen there elite loading for some of the nights ive been there and of the usually 100 or so booking usually they have 5 or so Ambassador 10 or so Titanium and 20 or so Platinum members. If I absolutely had to have a suite, than this hotel is one that I would basically have to buy the suite. I do appreciate that typically when I show up they will give me whatever other room I want as far as closer to lobby or closer to other end or scenic vs. parking lot view and whichever of the 5 floors I'd like to be on.

As a platinum or gold, I would expect to get the best of whatever room type I booked, but likely not any real upgrade unless it was an empty property or one that just didn't get much elite traffic at all.
