Delta’s program is more closely aligned with ticket prices than Alaska. Delta
doesn’t really have “sweet spots” like what you may be used to.
The best value is to get a delta credit card which offers a 15% reduction in mile redemptions. Also, think of 60k miles
as worth around $750 and then think of the flights that cost about that much. There are a couple
of “wrong answers”. For example, paying for a ticket with miles and points brings the value down to 1 cent per point. Similarly, transferring points between accounts is also exorbitantly expensive and generally costs more than what the cash value of the point is.
Finally, there are occasional flash sales that offer improved value. They aren’t 100% predictable, and your dream route may not be available.
