I use this regularly as I tend to get either an AA or UA arrival from LAX around midnight. These flights are usually the last ones to arrive into ORD and the place is always deserted. The walk is simple and straightforward as long as you realise you have to go under the road system. I do find the bathrooms very 1980's and the furnishings are from a more substantial era - bed, TV cabinet, desk, chair plonked in the room.
Higher floors are great for terminal/runway views. The walk down the corridor does resemble the definition of a bed factory, though - see picture below - a triumph of beige.
I find the breakfast pretty dire - cheap, low quality food items, though I could say the same about the LAX Hilton. Staff are always nice though.

You don't have to go down to the tunnels to get to the ORD Hilton. You can just walk out from the baggage levels and find the crosswalk that will take you across the street to the hotel (the crosswalk often has a traffic control person in the area to chase off waiting cars and to assist people crossing; 5 minute walk at most. If it's raining or snowing the tunnels may be a better option.
