IS there a market to trade Aeroplan reward travel for merchandise among FF'ers?

Further to Shareholder's posting of Take your pick: a business class ticket to Asia/Australia or an iPod?, I recommend we start a thread where FF'ers are able to send their points to other FF'ers in exchange for merchandise (as long as this is legal and won't get us booted from AP).

We could even negotiate the number of points for the merchandise available. For example, if AP says its 115K for a $500 iPod, we could barter amongst ourselves using that as a starting point.

As I mentioned in Shareholder's original thread, I would be willing to pony up an brand new iPod (identical to the one offered by Future Shop) PLUS 5 of your favourite CDs, for 115K points.

What do you all think?

Addendum: I have been corrected that AP points cannot be transferred. I'm wondering if it would be possible to book reward travel ("gift of travel") in exchange for merchandise?
