You are all right. 4hr is only for P1. If not, you'll be confirmed right away when calling TA during OLCI. Note that if you got a pre flight, the 30hrs window is extended to this one. Meaning the earlier your first flight is, the earlier you'll be able to confirm your P upgrade.

Update : everything went well but with ups & down during the process
. It was a flight to SIN with the new P product ! Flight was still showing P2 a few hours before OLCI start. Due to a last-min personal issue, I couldn't take care of processing the upgrade at the time of OLCI. About 2hrs later, when I wanted to take care of this, flight was now showing P1
.
I called the TA who confirmed what was said, i.e. that the last seat was kept for sale until H-4. Sincerely, I wasn't sure to go for it at H-4 as not enough time to enjoy the lounge with a decent meal long enough before the flight meal. The TA said she would check regularly and encouraged me to call again anytime to check.
The next day (DoD), flight became P2 again around mid-day
, I called the TA immediately and the Ulti voucher upgrade was secured in 5 min
. Two hours later I was in cab heading to CDG for a great late lunch in the lounge.
Super happy to have tested the new P. I will post a short report in the P thread soon.
