Thanks for the v helpful response. Booking was made by a TA in Japan linked to the organisation who is hosting me. So no option to change on website or app, just says to contact TA.

Tried calling KLM but gave up after 30 mins on hold. WhatsApp chat said I need to go through agent.

Might give that a go, otherwise will take my chances at check-in or at the gate.

Used to be gold FB back in the day, so maybe they will want to entice me back! Flying solo which can be a bonus in these situations.

Checked the ticket and looks like I’m A on outward leg, S on return. Not sure what idea what that means but don’t think I’m premium light as I have 2 checked bags included.

Really appreciate this site/forum as I try to reacquaint myself with FB. Seems like a lot has changed in 10 years. Interested to see if KL has gone down the same path as BA service-wise … (I.e. terrible. Don’t get me started on the state of their bathrooms/showers in their LHR lounges - 80s municipal leisure centre would be ashamed)
