I'm a regular flyer, but recently downgraded from Gold to Silver.

Flying DXB to LHR today and I ordered the lamb as main (the other two options were horrendous). Was told by cabin crew that I wouldn't get my first choice of main. I asked to see the IFM as I thought this was unacceptable, IFM came over and told me that due to my loyalty and status I would be given my main choice.

Why should it take me to speak to the IFM to get my main choice of food?
