I received my first official notice today. Guessing I'll just close my Aviator Red card, since the annual fee is due, unless anyone can think of a reason why I shouldn't close it.

Your AAdvantage® Aviator® Mastercard® is becoming a Citi® / AAdvantage® Card
The bank that issues your credit card is changing from Barclays to Citi.

Hi, SJ. Thanks for being an AAdvantage® credit cardmember.

On April 24, 2026, the bank that issues your AAdvantage® credit card is changing from Barclays Bank Delaware to Citibank, N.A. (Citi). Your Barclays credit card account will automatically transfer to Citi and your AAdvantage® Aviator® World Elite Mastercard® will be converted to the American Airlines AAdvantage® MileUp®Mastercard® credit card. Your AAdvantage® Aviator® Mastercard will continue to work after April 24, 2026. Once you receive and activate your new Citi card, you can immediately begin using it. Action you need to take now: Make sure your Barclays contact information, including mailing address and email, are up to date to ensure a seamless transfer of account information to Citi. You can review your information and make changes by visiting aviatormastercard.com or by logging into the Barclays app. Login to your AAdvantage® Aviator® Mastercard account before April 23, 2026 to print or save statements or information needed for your records. After April 23, 2026, you'll no longer have access to that information at aviatormastercard.com or in the Barclays app.
  • Here's what you need to know: You can continue using your AAdvantage® Aviator® Mastercard as you normally would. Your Citi card will be sent within 6-8 weeks beginning April 27, 2026. Once your new Citi card is delivered, you can activate and begin using it. Safely and securely dispose of your Barclays card. Your current Barclays account alert settings will not be transferred to Citi. Any AAdvantage® miles and Loyalty Points earned from transactions made on your AAdvantage® Aviator® Mastercard will be posted to your AAdvantage® account 8-10 weeks following earning activity.
  • Learn more about these upcoming changes and view a list of FAQs. Important payment information: Automatic payments (AutoPay) and future dated payments that are scheduled to occur on or after April 24, 2026 will be canceled by Barclays. You will be able to schedule and make payments to Citi starting April 27, 2026, including enrolling in AutoPay. For now, please continue to make your payments to Barclays just as you do today. Your Citi billing statements after April 27, 2026 will have your new payment instructions.
  • Keep an eye out for additional communications regarding your account transfer from Barclays to Citi. We look forward to welcoming you as a Citi customer!
