I guess I've learned my lesson not to ever fly Etihad. Luckily it was the cheapest routing option to LIS so I'm not losing out on too much, but still extremely annoying.
I did file a complaint after that flight. The response? No compensation, of course. Just a stream of apologies and the usual copy-and-paste "we will strive to improve" nonsense. Lots of words, zero accountability, and absolutely nothing that made up for the experience.
