When I flew out of AMS last time it was similar; There was business availability but only very last minute a bunch of people got upgraded filling the last few seats. So there is still a chance that this would happen close(r) to departure.
O,,,, interesting,, never knew that.
Anyway, I asked at the gate, and the agent started to type into the computer and I was granted the upgrade. I am curious what if I had not asked...?
I was informed that I might get business class meal,, however onboard I was given with Business meal, although with only the last remaining options.. which was ok.
First time in such a situation - so I do still wonder why A3 does not make the upgrade process easier? It would have been so much less more customer friendly...especially I really wonder what happens if I did not check at the gate, They could make it automated,,,..
