Just got back home after a ~5.5 hour delay LAX > JFK today. Maintenance issue on their part with the over wing slide/raft. Was originally scheduled for 10:10a, then delayed until 1 then 2 then 2:30 then finally 3:30 and actually took off at 3:45 or so.

others flight options to switch to didn’t have D1 left or would be standby so I stayed on original flight. No offering of vouchers for food at the airport (usually automatic in past for me).

I will submit a request for some compensation via the form and see if I can get some skymiles. Crew on plane was great and pilot was very apologetic and admitted it wasn’t up to delta’s standards which was nice to hear.
