Any recent experiences at this property?

We've got a stay booked for next weekend (not planned specifically for this, but very happy to not be in SFO next weekend), and bringing the kids to Universal. Figured this would be a good property to check out, as we (esp. kids) generally are happy at the Kimpton's we've stayed at. I'm IHG Platinum now if that helps (kids are also very happy that we normally choose the 'raid the pantry' benefit).

Anything we should know? We considered Hilton Universal - to be in walking distance - but I think this is close enough to the park, and generally, Kimpton > Hilton. Also wondering how convenient/safe it is to take the Red line over to the park. Would rather not park over there, but seems like this might work out well?

Can anyone tell me how much parking is a night? Having trouble locating current rates (although understand DPs above showing they comp. that for the secret password, which would work out well if its that.)
