Therein lies the problem. I don't see where BA can go from here. What partners can it bring in to attempt to match what the US airlines have managed?

Amex seems reluctant (at best) to do more than it has already done with its BAC partnership, no Mastercard/Visa issuer will be able to do much due to the cap on interchange fees, Nectar is hardly a resounding success and isn't likely to suddenly become any more interesting than it currently is, so what does that leave? Where is BA going get the partners it very clearly needs if it's to copy the ecosystems the likes of American, Delta and United have created?
