Etihad has changed all Lisbon <-> Abu Dhabi flights from February 11 onward to be operated by Hi Fly. An article online states that passengers can contact Etihad to request a refund. However, several people I spoke with said that customer service denied both refunds or flight changes, stating that this does not qualify as a “major change.”
I personally feel ripped off paying for Etihad business class and getting an outdated wet lease flight. And Etihad insisting that this is not a major change will prevent me from flying from them again.
Additionally, customers were prevented from submitting formal complaints. I think that is unlawful, as Portuguese law requires all businesses to provide access to the official complaints book (Livro de Reclamações).
