Well, they did used to call them "Executive Lounges". ;-)
But really- when traveling for business, it is often refreshing to have a place to work outside of my own room, especially since the desk set up is often less than ideal these days. And the very few hotels in the US that still have lounges open all day have certainly gotten my business.
(And yes, my budget when traveling for work (I am fortunate to be at a level now where there are no guidelines) is generally multitudes higher than when I travel for leisure; and I believe that yes, the airlines and hotels recognize that and charge accordingly.)
