Is this still the correct procedure? I'm interested in placing a ticket on fare lock. UA's website says it'll cost 100k miles plus ~$1k to purchase the number of miles I'm deficient. Ideally, i'd lock it, transfer the miles to UA and then purchase the ticket. Can i do that or will the farelock require that I purchase the ticket and the $1k of new UA miles the system says i need today?
