I'm crediting these flights to AA and on my DFW-HND-GMP leg there was a schedule change (really just change in aircraft on HND-GMP from 777 to 787) so JAL is letting me select new flights. Some flights offered have crazy routing like DFW-DOH-ICN or DFW-HND-DOH-ICN. If I select a new much longer routing will points post based on that distance, earning a lot more, or will AA post it based on the original ticketed distance?
I might be mistaken, 🧐🤔 but if they have JL or QR codes , they should credit as distance %. I'm not sure if AA codes would be available on all those flight routings.
The only issue with AA codes is that they would credit based upon money spent. Not on original distance.
On the other hand. If you had less distance due to a flight change you could ask for OTC. Original Route Credit but that wouldn't be an issue here.
