IIRC, both Citibank and RBS offer fee-bearing cards, waived for the first year. They have opening bonuses, so you could earn 5,000 + 6,500 in bonuses. Other than that, they are not especially interesting, compared with the BA miles available via Tesco.
AA benefits include:
- lower extras on flights, including BA flights;
- transatlantic award flights from 40,000 miles;
disAAdvantages include:
- some European flights more expensive: 20,000 (BA 12,000 and 25,000)
