I always book first class on trains, while I rarely book business class on planes within Europe. Yet most products just assume that if you don't want to buy a J ticket, you're okay with the second class on trains. Good to know that AFKL got it right!
What did AFKL get right?

The only reason I buy TGV Air combo tickets, is that you are protected in case of delay of the train (or plane). The other day, I was travelling to Paris and all trains were experiencing 2 hour + delays.

People around me who had bought a separate ticket to CDG were realising one after the other, that they were going to miss their flight and lose their ticket.

However, same as you, I always buy 1st class train ticket and Y in Europe.

Hence my initial post: does anyone here have recent experience of upgrading the train segment of a TGV Air ticket?
