Can't really put my finger on it, but somewhere within the color palate, furnishings, design, etc I miss a warmth, a heat, a sense of relaxation.
It's beautiful of course, and i always vibe with Aman/Asian-type stark minimalism. But I seem to prefer the indoors of other Aman city iterations like Tokyo, Kyoto more.
Trying to figure it out - what exactly is wrong w me - as we're seriously considering the hotel for a 3-4 night Bangkok leg on an anniversary trip to Thailand next year. Against Siam, Langham, 137 Pillars and possibly MO. (We're not really FS or Hyatt people).
Nothing at all wrong with wanting to stay at Aman Nai Lert - I’ve been once and really enjoyed it and will be back again in March (my review and room tour is floating around somewhere - maybe the Bangkok lux thread?)
MO is too formal for me and I haven’t heard any reports from the Siam after Nick left (the rest of the BKK luxury hotels don’t really seem to be my thing)
