Asking for a worried friend. She tried to book via AA.com a few hours ago, but it errored out when processing payment. This is the error message received:
Something went wrong. We are sorry for the inconvenience, we encountered an error processing your request. The system is temporarily unable to process your request. Please try again. (9117 - 8111)
She did not receive a confirmation number or her ticket, so I take it that the booking did not go through. But she paid with a debit card and the money has been deducted, so it seems AA took payment. I am not sure if merchants can place hold on debit cards, but I do not think AA does for flight bookings, so not sure what is happening here. She is currently waiting for a call back from AA, but anyone experienced something similar or knows what is going on? Thank you
