Many passengers had problems reclining the PE seats, so crew were often having to help people, and explaining that the recliners were 'stiff' due to the interior being new.
Also - 1 hour into the flight my IFE screen completely died, and the crew were unable to reset it - on their control screen it kept just saying it was not responding.
Wifi also did not work for anyone the entire flight, even with the crew trying multiple times to reboot it.
In the middle of the 'night' the crew rebooted the entire IFE trying to fix the wifi and also the screens for several passengers, but this did not seem to resolve any issues.
The crew were quite negative about the new interior - and especially the IFE system which they said they had issues on every flight - one even joked that they need to take an IT person as a crew member on every flight to deal with it.
I was offered sincere apologies for my IFE not working for most of the flight, and was given $180 in Airpoints vouchers. The crew member I dealt with even offered me her personal ipad to watch some movies she had downloaded and said she would have given me "$3000 in airpoints if i had my way".
You are lucky to get $180 Airpoints vouchers for your dead IFE screen. On a premium economy flight from Auckland to Taipei in September 2024 had the same issue but only got $90 in Airpoint vouchers.
