I am playing around with a RTW itinerary at the moment that will give me a Middle East Holiday (taking advantage of if being considered part of the European TC) before starting the main event to Australia and New Zealand. Anything involving Qantas/Australia does seem to really bump the price. I have been focussing on crediting to Finnair but this looks interesting that you can achieve crediting to BA for a similar price I am getting myself at the moment. My intention is also to bring in the experts once I am settled on the destinations/dates we absolutely want to do.
If you aren't already, use codeshares as I believe the fees and nTP earning ratio are based on the marketing carrier and might avoid some of those Qantas fees. Came into some interesting problems, where some codeshares couldn't be booked unless they were connecting to others.
