Had to do EES at FCO on arrival. The machine refused to read my passport five times so the lady told me to just go to the immigration booths (which were a bus ride away as we landed in the satellite terminal). Getting to the main terminal the EES booths were shutdown there but there was the regular EU and non-EU chutes. Once in the non-EU chute there was a further distinction between those who used the machines and those who didn't. I waited all of two minutes. The guy took my fingerprints and photo which felt super weird to me entering the EU (which I do 6-10x a year).
But what I'm still unsure about is now that I'm "registered". do I still have to use the EES machines each time I enter the EU?
