United flight credit in someone else's name
I bought about $10k of fully refundable tickets on United for several others traveling with me for a work trip. We had to change plans and I changed the tickets. I did not realize that the new flights were in a different class and no longer fully refundable. The trip got called off and I went to cancel and was told they weren't refundable; I could only get a flight credit. I said fine; I will probably spend that much on United in the next year anyway. However, I just went to redeem one of the credits and they said it can only be used by the person whose name it is in. Am I SOL?
