Two days now with HKG-LAX showing PZ9 but my upgrade with miles still hasn't processed. Called yesterday and today, with one agent checking with her lead. The only thing they could offer was to remove the upgrade request for the entire journey, which would forfeit my mid-con upgrade. I booked this as separate LAX-HKG and HKG-BKK flights, same on the return, hoping to avoid this issue. It's partly worked; the HKG-BKK flight had PZ space when I booked it, so I am confirmed on that segment. The return is more problematic, with space available on HKG-LAX (but not BKK-LAX), and no upgrade is processing. Chatted with an agent today and informed he couldn't push it through. Seat assignments are different for each flight.
Finally, upgrade success. PZ=9 for 6 days yet the upgrade never processed on HKG-LAX. Tried by phone today and reached a great agent who happily and expeditiously processed the upgrade.
