Israel: HopOnRav-Pass App vs. Rav Kav card
I'm headed to Israel for a week with my teenage kid. We plan to take public buses in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Most websites and blogs seem to recommend getting a Rav Kav card, but there's also the (relatively new?) Rav Pass app.
From what I can tell, the advantages of the app are post-payment and not needing to buy the card. And the main advantage of the card is that your phone doesn't need to be working when you board the bus. What else am I missing?
Is it possible to buy a day pass using the app, or is that only available on the card? I can't find a place in the app where I would buy it.
Can my teenager get the half-priced "youth" fares using both the app and an anonymous Rav Kav card?
Any other considerations in choosing whether or not to get the card?
