If so, I think it's more AA making a statement against UA for spoiling their nonstop monopoly fares (I imagine) on PIT/CMH-LAX, vs defending Ohio.
So AA adds CLE-LAX.

The timing might also not be a coincidence. UA is adding those LAX flights March 29 and AA is adding CLE/IAD April 7.
