I'm able to use 3x 500 in one sitting, then float around the store and 10min later another 1-2 x 500 usually works. Sometimes just 1, sometimes 2, hard to predict their fraud algorithms.

I do $2 below full value btw. And this is not specific to Discover but any MC transaction.
