Regarding your concerns of misuse, although a obfuscated VPN connected and worked normally, regular VPNs didn't, and DNS is pretty much locked down. DNS over TLS and DNS over HTTPS didn't work, and only their DNS server (on Vultr if anyone is interested) worked, which filtered all of the things you don't want people to be using the internet for. Internet speed and latency was pretty much consistent from around 10.000ft after takeoff, to the gate after landing.
