Two days now with HKG-LAX showing PZ9 but my upgrade with miles still hasn't processed. Called yesterday and today, with one agent checking with her lead. The only thing they could offer was to remove the upgrade request for the entire journey, which would forfeit my mid-con upgrade. Will give it another day or two, but from what others have reported in other threads (IIRC), it sounds like the automated process isn't working for these flights..
This happened to me earlier this month. RN=6 for several days with plus points applied to a reservation with two non status pax and no luck. Tried calling, agent would not process the upgrade (said they had no way to do it) but confirmed they were 4th on the upgrade list. SFO-MEL. I figured better to wait and keep the place in line for PZ if that ever opened. After five days the space was gone. In the end I switched my cousin over to LAX-MEL which had RN=4 and was able to clear instantly via the phone agent who made the change. A factor may have been that my cousin and her partner did not have mileage plus numbers?
