Opened my app today at checkin for a JFK-BOS AA flight so I could get the agent to add my BA status to the reservation and it now has a completely different number for my frequent flyer account: longer, preceded by three letters.

Was this announced? I didn’t see any discussion of it anywhere. Also when I gave the phone to the agent for her to type in the new number to the PNR it didn’t work, and only accepted my old format one
