The Captain said there was an error notice regarding the brakes, but that it was probably just a system glitch, so we needed to go back to the gate and have maintenance check it out - everyone deplaned.

No compensation available as the primary cause according to AC was weather (not that it would have mattered if maintenance related anyway), but the lousy $20 food voucher they gave us did not even cover the cost of a plate of wings while we waited. I decided to file an expense claim for the $4.23 extra that the wings alone cost in hopes of starting some dialog on the incident. AC did a direct deposit of the $4.23 into my account and matter was closed on their end....

Next time, I am going to teach them and order a Coke with it (cannot be alcohol or a double scotch would have been included)....

This is one of the main reasons I don't even bother using the vouchers.

If I go to the lounge, I can get passable food and drink, and more importantly, quickly make it back to the gate when necessary. To get anything resembling a meal, it's going to be way more than $20, and I have had to bail on a half-finished plate before when a delayed flight started boarding early, or I unexpectedly cleared standby.
