Had this on a DTW-DFW flight last Wednesday. No preorder permitted---"tray meal served" was the descriptor. We had an aircraft change (after a delayed boarding, deicing, warning light, return to terminal, plane swap, boarding, deicing---ended up in DFW 5 hrs late. Anyway, asked f/a on the plane swap whether catering would be transferred---he said "better grab something in the terminal" so Farmers Fridge it was. Reboarding he specifically mentioned to me that it was transferred. Quite good service, no PDB and no glassware; and the f/a was pretty dissuade-y of the meal but it was fine--a little soggy and def not improved by the reheating/long hold time, but perfectly adequate. Good service from DTW--they were working their darndest on rebooking folks (the late afternoon flight connects to one of the Qatar flights so overheard both a Dhaka and a Bangkok rebooking.
