Two days now with HKG-LAX showing PZ9 but my upgrade with miles still hasn't processed. Called yesterday and today, with one agent checking with her lead. The only thing they could offer was to remove the upgrade request for the entire journey, which would forfeit my mid-con upgrade. Will give it another day or two, but from what others have reported in other threads (IIRC), it sounds like the automated process isn't working for these flights..
